About Us - we're 'singing' our hearts out - good and bad!
The Sing@The Hub choir is an amazing high-energy singing group with one special feature; they're for everybody whether you can sing or not. Everybody's welcome to just sing your heart out.
No judgment
No concerts
No audiences
No talent
The singalong group also differentiates from other choirs in that there's no expectation to commit. Many members turn up up every week because it's so much fun, but we recognise that life is very busy these days and therefore you can simply pay as you go.
Neither is there any expectation to improve. Hints and tips to better singing are dished out (both of the leaders, Ian and Tracie Penwarden, are professional musicians and singers in their own right) but you can take it or leave it; the emphasis is on belting out good tunes whether that sounds good or bad!
As far as repertoire is concerned, anything goes as long as it's fun and singable. You can see what's in the lyric book here. We don't need you to read music - you'll be given a lyric book (£3 one-off payment) and we sing against fairly loud backing tracks. The most popular songs are by ABBA or Neil Diamond although anything suitable goes.
So come on and give it a go no matter how good or bad you are at singing. There are so many social and health benefits to singing in a group.
